Keeping an Eye on Life: A Physician’s Perspective

As a physician, I know firsthand that no clinician awakes in the morning with the intent to provide less than their very best while caring for patients.  Despite those efforts, some patients we care for will unexpectedly deteriorate.  When this takes place and we fail to intervene in a timely and effective manner, a ‘failure-to-rescue’ event takes place.  And yet, even with recognition of this problem and the widespread adoption of potential solutions such as rapid response systems, patients continue to deteriorate and die from preventable causes.

Keeping an Eye on Life: A Nurse’s Perspective

For the past few months, I’ve been working with our partner hospitals to compile hundreds of clinically meaningful nursing interventions.  I came to Sotera wanting to empower nurses to respond to deterioration earlier and I am convinced we are achieving this goal.
