On Friday May 20, 2016, thought leaders from Johns Hopkins University delivered a webinar titled “What system, structural, and technological changes are necessary to capture real-time, critical data of early deterioration in adult post-operative inpatients, to prevent failure to rescue?”

The presenters, Dr. Bradford Winters, Ph.D., M.D., FCCM and Sue Carol Verrillo, RN, MSN, CRRN of Johns Hopkins University and Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, presented their results from a ViSi Mobile pilot demonstrating advances in surveillance monitoring and avoidable hospital deaths.

When asked which patients were monitored, their response was “We continuously monitored ALL patients regardless of their opioid status.”
