Nancy’s Story

When you live a healthy lifestyle, going in for a routine surgery, doesn’t seem too terrifying.  Nancy was very active; walking daily, exercising, biking and gardening.

Nancy checked into Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey for hip replacement, revision surgery.  Nancy has long suffered from severe white coat syndrome, a disorder in which a person develops high blood pressure when they are in a clinical setting.  For Nancy, seeing the hospital’s blood pressure monitor increased her blood pressure and it rose to 168/110.
